One Person Dead, Two Seriously Injured in State Highway 6 Crash
A fatal crash occurred in the early hours of this morning on State Highway 6, Lochiel, leaving one person dead and two others seriously injured.
According to reports, emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 12:20 am, and upon arrival at the scene, they found that two vehicles had collided.
One person was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, they passed away later. The two other people who were involved in the accident were also rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
In response to the crash, the road has been closed, and diversions have been set up to direct traffic. Motorists are being urged to take alternative routes or avoid the area if possible.
The Serious Crash Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances that led to the accident. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information to come forward and assist with their investigation.
Detour route: Northbound Traffic turn right left onto Wilsons Crossing Road, right onto Lochiel-Branxholme Road and continue on State Highway 6. Southbound traffic turn right onto Forbes Road, then left onto Lochiel-Branxholme Road, left onto Wilsons Crossing Road and onto State Highway 6.
