One Injured Power Lines Down Road Down To One Lane

One person is injured and trapped in their car after it left the road and crashed into a power pole causing power lines to fall down and cover part of the highway.

The accident is blocking the Dipton-Winton highway south of the intersection with Benmore Otapiri Road.

What we know:

• power lines covering part of the highway.
• multiple power lines have been knocked down
• a police spokeswoman said a vehicle went off the road and power lines were down
• one person is trapped and has moderate injuries
• an ambulance was in attendance, he said.

The road is down to one lane south of Benmore Otapiri Rd, under stop/go traffic management.
