The Oceania Track Cycling Championships will continue as an annual event, rotating between New Zealand and Australia.
As part of this rotation, the Oceania Championships and New Zealand Track Cycling Championships will alternate between the ILT Southland Velodrome in Invercargill and the Grassroots Velodrome in Cambridge. The 2026 Oceania Championships will take place in Cambridge, while Invercargill will host the 2028 edition. Australian venues for future events are yet to be confirmed.
Cycling Southland will once again stage the New Zealand Track National Championships in Invercargill in 2025. The current plan includes incorporating the New Zealand Masters Championships into a proposed seven-day programme, covering all age categories.
“RTX is excited at the opportunity to bring all riders together, for the first time in a number of years, to compete at one event. We believe the initiative is a great opportunity to build support and relationships across all age groups and across Aotearoa New Zealand,” said Rachelle Spencer, RTX (Road, Track and Cyclocross) President.
Dates for the 2026 Oceania Track Cycling Championships are yet to be finalised.
