The ILT has had a busy month of celebrations leading up to Christmas with a whole raft of exciting events for the community.
The ever popular street party is back this year but has been moved to Leet Street outside the Lone Star Restaurant this Friday, where food and music will keep punters entertained all afternoon and evening.
Marketing manager Angee Shand said the ILT has had a long history with Christmas street parties, traditionally in Don Street, and this year local bands All Night Long and Jetset will crank their tunes.
“It’s about recognising that we don’t have to go outside the region to find talent,” she said.
The Lone Star will be emptying their fridges and dishing up an array of interesting food before staff take a well earned break over Christmas.
Starting with the Santa Parade at the end of November, the ILT has also been involved with Christmas in the Park, the Murihiku Christmas Tree Festival, and tonight’s variety show at Stadium Southland.
Entry to the street parade is free and the event starts at 3pm with acoustic music in the mix as well.
