Another outstanding year in Southland sport will be celebrated on Friday 8th June at the Ascot Park Hotel, at the 2018 ILT Southland Sports Awards.
Nominations for the awards are now open and organisers are expecting them to reflect the traditionally high standard of results achieved by Southlanders year on year.
Sport Southland co-ordinates the annual awards, and Chief Executive Brendon McDermott says it has been another big year for sport in the south.

“The ILT Southland Sports Awards are not only a chance to celebrate and recognise our region’s top sportspeople, teams, coaches, administrators and officials, but they inspire our entire community,” he said.
“Seeing the achievements produced by Southlanders every year, whatever sport they are involved with, is nothing short of exceptional, and makes us so proud to be fellow Southlanders.”
“Southland is a very special place, and sport has a strong and invaluable presence here regardless of whether you’re kicking a ball around socially or representing your country at international events.
To get the chance to reflect on the very top performances and achievements – which largely come down to an immense amount of hard work and fantastic support – is really positive.”

- ILT Senior Sportsperson
