SBS Bank and the Highlanders have announced they’ve entered into a new three-year partnership.

Not only has SBS Bank become an official partner of the Highlanders but is now also the Dunedin-based Super Rugby franchise’s official bank.

SBS Bank chief executive Shaun Drylie said the new partnership was a natural fit for the customer-owned bank because it aligned to a key focus area of well-being through the promotion and alignment to physical wellness.

“We also see this is a great opportunity to boost our community connections in Highlander country – our key catchments of Otago and Southland – and to partner with a popular and successful southern sports team,” he said.

In addition to game-day promotional and hosting opportunities, SBS Bank and the Highlanders would work to develop a community-focussed promotional activity later in the season.

“This is an exciting opportunity and one I’m sure will bring benefits to our wider business through a greater community connection.”

Highlanders chief executive Roger Clark was delighted to partner with SBS Bank.

“They’ve been part of the community in Southland and Otago for 150 years so it’s great to have another stalwart institution in the south come on board and support what we’re doing.
“I look forward to seeing our relationship develop over time.”
