New Ownership For Bronze Connection

The Bronze Connection has a new owner and with it a new change of direction.
Hair stylist Annie Paterson has decided to take over the iconic Southland business from Wendy Findlay, who has owned the business since 2004.
The sunbeds are gone but the hair side of the business remains – Annie has decided to keep its name because when something is this well known, why would you change it?
Initially opening in Dee Street back in the 1990s, the Bronze Connection moved to Esk St several years ago, and now since the second lockdown has established a smaller boutique business in Spey Street.
Annie has been with the Bronze Connection for the past 17.5 years and had always hoped of one day owning her own hair salon. When Wendy decided it was time to move on, she jumped at the chance to take over the business.
“It’s certainly nerve wracking and exciting at the same time,” she said.
A born and bred Southlander and with support from husband Simon, now was a great time to dedicate her time to her own business, with her children growing up and becoming more independent.
She currently employs three full-time staff (one is currently on maternity leave), and an apprentice, but said she was on the look out for a part-time student, or young person willing to learn on the job – one day a week.
Meanwhile, Wendy is reflecting on her 18 years in business in the spray tan and sunbed business, and said on a Facebook post that she was looking for something new to do.
“I have had some amazing staff over the years and I would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. Most of you girls are mums now, how amazing is that and others are doing other amazing things.
“I have come into contact with some awesome beautiful clients during those 18 years who I am going to miss seeing every few weeks.”
She said it was time to hand it over to Annie and Simon who will do amazing things and put their own mark on it like she did.
“So proud of you Annie you now have your own salon so all the best for the future.”
