The new Ascot Park Racecourse Sunday Market in Invercargill starts this Sunday (31 July) at the racecourse in Racecourse Road, Invercargill.
Organisers have attracted a range of stallholders with products ranging from kids clothes, wheat bags, baby items, soaps, sewing, printed mugs, Pounamu Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, Oamaru Stone Carvings, plants, fresh flowers, crystals, slime, honey, wooden puzzles, kindling, photographs, balms, herbal remedies, hair accessories, greeting cards and more, plus a range of food and of course coffee. If the weather is suitable there may also be pony rides for the kids.
Spokesperson for the new market, Peter Kett, says, “we have had a fantastic response from both food and craft stallholders but we can still always take more. We apologise for the delay in getting up and running but covid, illness and then the water works programme in Racecourse Road have all impacted on our ability to get going. We are rearing to go now. Our stallholders are able to set up from 7am on Sunday and we will be all ready for a 9.30am start.”
The market will initially be indoors, inside a heated venue with separate areas for food and crafts with some outdoor trailers and food caravans.
