Nathan Williamson spearheaded a win for the South Of The Waitaki team in the annual What The Hill Drivers Challenge at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on Friday.

Williamson took the Individual honours with 29 points with the North’s Samantha Ottley on 14 and Blair Orange on 11.

The South Of The Waitaki Team led all day even after Orange won the first of four heats for the North with RnR Windermere. However with Nathan Williamson, Brent Barclay and Brad Williamson taking second, third and fourth the South led 15 – 11.

They extended that lead after the second heat with Williamson taking the win on board Majestic Man and Craig Ferguson backing him up with a third.

Allan Beck won the third heat for the south on Santanna’s Rocket with Ferguson and Williamson again in the points to send the South team into the final heat with a 47 – 31 lead and with Williamson leading the Individual points from Orange.

Another win to Williamson, this time on Mr Kiwi, in the final heat sealed the individual title for him and with Barclay scoring a third the teams title also came south, a reversal of last year’s win by the North Of The Waitaki Team.
