The Invercargill Licensing Trust made a $780,000 profit in November, which was only slightly less than in 2019 – despite there being no large conferences booked after Covid-19.

In a report from the chief executive for its monthly meeting today, Chris Ramsay said the year to date profit was currently $5.8 million – just 2.7% or $160,000 lower than in 2019.

“This is a pleasing result given the disruption and uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, allowing ILT to continue paying out funding grants to community and sports organisations” he said.

The report said its retail bottle stores continued to trade well with sales up 10% for the November period, with the accommodation and meal sector similar and bar sales up by 2.8%.
