Mix of Candidates Up For Election, Double Dippers, Blasts From The Past – Take Our Mayoral Poll

Local body election nominations closed 12 noon on Friday.

Ten of the 12 existing Invercargill City Councillors will be throwing their hat in the ring once more, with Lesley Soper double dipping by standing for the SDHB as well.

Environment Southland councillor Neville Cook another double dipper also be standing for the SDHB.

Some familiar faces are back in on the action, with former ICC councillors Thelma Buck and Peter Kett keen on putting their best foot forward. As of August 17, 2019, there were 12 council vacancies for the Invercargill City Council 2019 Triennial Elections, and 29 nominations. The ILT also received 11 nominations for six vacancies, while there are five nominations for five vacancies on the Bluff Community Board.
