Ministry of Health gives latest Covid-19 update
The Ministry of Health is addressing the media on the latest Covid-19 developments in New Zealand.
Ministry of Health reiterates the two cases which could be community transmission are in the Wairarapa and Auckland.
There are still two which are being treated as community transmission.
Information on ICU capacity will be posted online shortly.
Every action taken is to avoid a worst-case scenario.
Testing will be reserved for those who need it.
People should go to drive-through checks if they have symptoms and are concerned.
Ashley Bloomfield says we would continue to see new cases each day. Doing between 1100-1500 tests a day. Positive tests are around 1-2 percent.
Contacting tracing efforts being are ramped up.
102 confirmed cases in New Zealand now.
Total number of completed tests over 7000.
Of the cases today, over half are directly related to overseas travel.
Most of the remaining cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.
There remain two that we cannot be certain where infection came from, we are therefore treating them as community transmission.
There are 36 new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand.
