Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) will be releasing a new television commercial on Sunday 1 October 2017. Filmed and produced by SIT’s Production team and supported by Queenstown Camera and cinematographer Raj Patel who came down from Queenstown to work on the project, it features Invercargill’s popular Mayor Tim Shadbolt.

Mayor Tim has leant his public face to help emphasise SIT’s fantastic facilities and some of the best courses in the country, while having a lot of fun along the way.

Shot in various locations around Invercargill and Southland, including Oreti Beach, SIT’s main campus and a locale resembling Mars, this production has been a collaboration between SIT’s departments.

Nine Screen Arts students served as interns on the project as well as a fashion student intern and the Engineering department assisted with building a cannon prop from which to ‘shoot’ Mayor Tim.

SIT’s Nursing faculty was also involved and special thanks need to go to Stephen Winteringham for the use of the World’s Fastest Indian bike replica.

Keep an eye out for the new television commercial, we hope it encourages students to launch their futures at SIT!
