Man In Hospital After Winton Dog Attack (Upated)

Police Update:

Both dogs that were sought after a man was attacked are now with the Council.

The victim has had surgery in Southland Hospital and he is expected to recover in time. We wish him well.

Once again, thank you to the public who helped this man before Police arrived.

Inquiries into the attack are ongoing and we continue to talk to the owners of the dogs, who are upset by what’s happened.If you’re in the Great North Rd area of Winton, you might see a number of Police patrols.

These are for public safety after a two dogs attacked a man, who’s now in hospital with moderate injuries.

One of the dogs – described as Rottweilers – has been caught and the other is being sought.

If you see what’s described to be a female Rottweiler, please call 111.
