Hey there team, middle of Feb (or near enough) already.

Anyways, I’ve been looking for an excuse to put this up for Mal’s Music Memory for ages. Possibly one for the purists but as Hayden and Toni at Little Fire Muswicworks are running some great back to school drum kit specials …well that was all I needed.

This clip features arguably one of the best stick men in rock, Carmine Appice. Here he is back with Vanilla Fudge promoting a reunion tour doing a song they recorded in the late 60’s.

There are not too many acts that Carmine hasn’t played with over a stellar career, which is still going. His biggest gig was doing the business for Rod Stewart in the late 70’s early 80’s. Carmine came to these shores a couple of times backing Rod on concert tours.

Check out his work on the albums Footloose and Fancy Free, Blondes Have More Fun and Foolish Behaviour.

If you’re a drum beginner or have a youngster that is learning, tell ’em to get a load of this….and get them to watch Carmine’s “how to” vids on youtube  and most importantly get them into see and talk drums with Hayden and Toni at Little Fire MusicWorks on Dee St.

Mal, wishing he could play the drums !
