Hi there team.
50 years this weekend since arguably the most celebrated outdoor music event of modern times, Woodstock.
For those that weren’t around then, and many of us weren’t, Woodstock was billed as an Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music and was held at Max Yasgur’s 600-acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York,
The event was originally a paid ticket gig but organizers hands were forced to make it a free for all when thousands upon thousands of believers came from all over the USA to wallow in the mud and slush and see and hear some of the top acts of the time perform.
Some who performed then like Santana, The Who, Neil Young and John Fogerty are still doing it today. Sadly we have lost many who were there.
There were other festivals around but Woodstock set the benchmark for festivals that followed.
Enjoy Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (Neil is there but not in this clip) in their 2nd ever performance in front of an audience.
Has anyone got a spare dairy farm shaped something a natural amphitheatre ?
