A short week too as the Easter break approaches.

Our series of Songs of April continues with Three Dog Night’s Pieces of April.

While not one of their biggest hits Pieces Of April had good chart success when it came out in the early 70’s.

In my view PoA was one of those songs that was just too good to be a hit.

Wee bit of background, Three Dog Night were one of the biggest acts going in the late 60’s early 70’s making hits out of songs like Pieces Of April from then obscure songwriters such as Dave Loggins.

As with most successful acts, endless touring, petty squabbles, $$’s and drugs and booze played their part in the fall of Three Dog Night.
