Hi team, it’s Rocktober, my favourite month for sure and certainly time to revisit some blasts from the past. Songs that don’t or rarely get played on mainstream radio anymore.

Here’s one from an album that was huge in the early 70’s from a British band that pioneered ‘Eavy metal and as far as I know is still going now, Uriah Heep

As you can probably tell by the album cover, their music wasn’t to be messed with. Played only at max volume on an old record player.

UH also had a strong Kiwi connection for a time  when Gary Thain formerly from Christchurch joined the band on bass duties. All after this magic LP.

Elton John’s long time drummer Nigel Olssen also had a brief stint with UH in his early days.

Enjoy the very dark Gypsy from “Very ‘Eavy, Very ‘Umble”……have you got a copy in your record collection?
