Hey there team. Sad news for the end of the week.

One of our rock n roll pioneers has passed away.

Max Merritt left us earlier today after a long illness. Max had been living in Los Angeles for several years.

Max Merritt grew up in Christchurch just as rock n roll arrived on our shores. He learnt his craft here then moved to Australia, then the UK finally settling in the USA some years ago.

With his band The Meteors Max had this huge hit in the mid 70’s, Slipping Away…..great song.

RIP Max Merritt.
