Hiya team, not a good week, firstly we lost Helen Reddy and now singer / songwriter Mac Davis has also left us, but left us with some great songs.
Word is that Mac died following heart surgery aged 78, same age as Helen Reddy
Mac was multi talented musician, solo performer, TV host and of course songwriter.
Many of his tunes were picked up by others who made them hits, In The Ghetto and A Little Less Conversation for Elvis, (featured in the movie Ocean’s 11).
Something’s Burning by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition was another Mac Davis hit.
In his early days he worked off and on stage for Nancy Sinatra.
As a solo performer Mac scored big with hits like It’s Hard To be Humble and this world wide hit, Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me.
Mac Davis RIP
