Hi there team…how’s the lead up to Christmas going for you?
With our god friends at Little Fire MusicWorks we thought we’d see out the year with some top tracks from 50 years ago, 1970.
Let’s start with what still has to be Simon and Garfunkel’s finest hour and still one of the standout albums of modern times, Bridge Over Troubled Water.
From that album we’ve chosen a masterpiece in every sense, The Boxer.
Second up is a track from a band that isn’t heard that much these days, but when they were around not many came close to Blood Sweat and Tears.
The jazz/rock fusion band was described as horn heavy and certainly didn’t lack for talent among its members.
We’ve grabbed their version of a Carol King Gerry Goffin song and turned it to a classic, Hi De Ho.
I’m told told that BS and T toured NZ at some stage even playing Dunedin, were you there?
