For the third time in four years, Malloch McClean has won the New Zealand Large Accounting Partner of the Year at the Xero Awards New Zealand 2022.

The Invercargill-based company was also a finalist in the Advisory Partner of the Year, and overall the team impressed the judges with their outstanding commitment to education and staff training, as well as efficiencies created thanks to technology.

CEO and business advisor Blair Evans said the team was passionate, proactive and loved what they do, and their clients were loyal and always willing to look for improvements.

He said it was very exciting to win the award again and ‘back to back,’ taking out the award in 2019, 2021 and now in 2022.

The Malloch McClean leadership team were recently at The Gap Accounting Conference in Queenstown, where keynote speaker David Bell – Executive General Manager Partner from XERO challenged the industry and asked the question “how do we bring the sexy back to accounting?”.

“This is a hugely competitive industry and Malloch McClean needs to ensure that we are providing the best business advice to our clients. Working with XERO and utilising the XERO technology is certainly providing us the platform to have better, more accurate and timely conversations with our clients.  Our objective is always to help our clients pay less tax, make more money and get ahead faster.”

“Our business has been around since 1933 and we want to be around and be relevant for another 100 years. To do that we need to be actively working with our clients, attracting new clients and having a team that loves what they do. While we have invested heavily in technology over recent years, its ultimately our team that make the difference.”

Blair said it doesn’t matter whether you are a small start up business, a large business with 30+ employees, a contract milker or a multi-farm owner, “our team are constantly looking for ways to help.”

With the use of XERO, a passionate team who love their job and working with clients, hopefully Malloch McClean is well on track to making accounting sexy.
