Southern DHB last week farewelled long-standing and highly valued staff member Philippa Sinclair.

Staff from the Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit at Southland Hospital gathered to say goodbye to Philippa on Friday who retired after a massive 39 years and 355 days as an Enrolled Nurse with Southern DHB and its predecessors.

The team collected together and put up a display of photographs taken over the years in the various areas Philippa has worked. What struck them all was all the different uniforms she has worn from white starched dresses to today’s trousers and tops!

Susan McNeill, Unit Manager thanking Philippa for her long and dedicated service said Philippa has been a caring nurse tireless advocate for her patients, she has been a very good and loyal friend to her colleagues and many of these friendships will endure for many years to come.

Thank you Philippa for all you have done for the many patients you have worked with over the years especially all those mothers and babies you helped bond, and thank you for the friendship to your colleagues and the wider Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation team.

Wishing Philippa all the best and at least another 39 years and 355 days in her next adventure of retirement in Central Otago!
