ILT has announced the winners of The Great Pub Cash Giveaway, with Pete Butler walking away with the grand prize of $5,000. The grand prize draw took place at The Northern Tavern, one of Butler’s regular spots. He was thrilled by the win, saying, “I’m just a casual sort of bloke so this is exciting.”
The competition, which ran from 14 July to 13 October, gave away a total of $12,000. In addition to the grand prize, seven lucky patrons each won $1,000 from their local ILT taverns over the promotion's run.
ILT chief executive Chris Ramsay expressed the organisation’s delight with the success of the event. “It’s been a great way to engage with our loyal customers and offer them something extra. With $12,000 up for grabs, it is a chance to give back and provide a little extra excitement to people’s visits.”
The grand prize was drawn on 13 October in front of live audiences across seven ILT neighbourhood taverns, with Ramsay calling the event a fantastic celebration of their loyal patrons. Feedback from participants was highly positive, with many appreciating the fun and chance to win significant prizes.
Following the success of this year's promotion, ILT is considering turning The Great Pub Cash Giveaway into an annual event, as part of its broader commitment to creating engaging experiences for patrons at its venues.
Ramsay added that future events and promotions were in the pipeline across ILT’s venues, as the organisation continues its mission to foster a vibrant and lively atmosphere in Invercargill.
