Below is a list of Anzac Day services around Invercargill and the Southland region on Thursday.

Athol: 10am Serviced at Athol Memorial Hall. After the service a gun salute will take place at the Athol Cemetery followed by laying of poppies. Cup of tea to follow at hall. Families please bring a plate.

Awarua/2nd NZEF: 10am, Don Street, Invercargill. Assemble 9:55am, Returned and service members march on at 10am to the music of the Invercargill March. Service commences with the singing of the NZ and Australian National anthems, wreath laying, messages etc. Concludes with individuals placing their poppies at the base of the flag pole. Morning tea and hot rum and coffee is then served.

Balfour: 10am. The parade departs from the Sports Ground gates at 9.50am for a Service at the Balfour Public Hall at 10am. Followed by wreath laying at the new memorial. Cup of tea and refreshments will be provided following the service. Parade Marshall: Henry Bennett. Guest Speaker: Mike Newell – Northern Southland College.

Bluff: 7am Dawn service  at The Grove at the bottom of Bluff Hill & then 10.45am leaving the RSA & marching to the Cenotaph for 11am service

Clinton: 10am at Clinton Community Centre, followed by morning tea.

Dipton: 10am Service at Dipton Memorial Hall, morning tea to follow. Guest Speaker:  Phil Morrison.

Dunrobin: 12.45pm (to follow on after the Heriot service).

Edendale: 9am service at the War Memorial. Parade to assemble at the baths at 8:45am. Seaward Downs: Wreathlaying at 11am. Cup of tea to follow.

Gore: The 101st service. To be held at the cenotaph following the parade of ex service personnel, Service Groups, Scouts etc. Parade assemble on the corner of Mersey and Main Streets at 6:30am. Led by the Hokonui Celtic Pipe Band. Wreaths may be placed at this Service, register your name with the RSA before the day. Dress: Mufti and medals. RSA members, participants and friends are welcome back to the RSA clubrooms after the Parade. The Gore RSA Bistro will be open for a buffet breakfast from 8am-10am. Also open for lunch and dinner. Musical entertainment in the clubrooms from 9:30am-2pm. Live video feed from the cenotaph to the RSA clubrooms and also on the Gore RSA Facebook Page. Courtesy coach available all day. Guest speakers: NZDF Representative and MP Hamish Walker.

Heriot: 11am assemble at Heriot Community Centre. Flag raising at completion of the service, then all invited for refreshments at the Community Centre.

Invercargill: Dawn Service 7am, War Memorial, Dee Street. Ex-service personnel to parade on Victoria Avenue at 6.50am. Invercargill Working Men’s Club will be live streaming Dawn service in the clubrooms (open at 6:45am for those who wish to sit and view). Formal civic service will be held at the Club at 7:45am. Morning tea to follow. Also keep your eyes to the sky to catch the Royal NZ Air Force conduct a flypast at 7am in a P-3K2 Orion, en route to Mid Canterbury and Blenheim. Please note the schedule could change due to weather conditions or operational requirements.

Lumsden: 7am Service at Monument, assemble at the Lumsden Memorial Hall at 6.45am. Cup of tea/coffee at the conclusion.

Makarewa:  10am Makarewa country club

Mataura: 7am dawn service at the Cenotaph (corner of River and Lodge Streets), assemble at Mataura Butcher Shop, Bridge Street, 6.45am. Special address at RSA clubrooms to follow, along with cup of coffee and light refreshments.

Mossburn: 7am Service at Senior Citizens Rooms. Assemble at 6.45am. Refreshments to follow, all welcome.

Myross Bush: 10am at the Hall. Guest speaker Lynley Dear.

Orawia: 7am dawn service.

Pukerau: 9:30am Service will be held at the Memorial Gates. Look out for the Dick Travis Memorial Wall. Morning tea at the community centre, bring a plate.

Riversdale: 10am Service in Community Centre. After Service march to the Cenotaph for the wreath-laying. Morning tea to follow in the Community Centre. Chairman: Peter O’Connor. Chaplain: Mrs Lois Shallard. Guest Speaker: Dr Ken Hodge. Parade Marshall: Brian Church.

Tapanui: 9.30am Service at Community Centre. Cup of tea and refreshments to follow.

Tuatapere: 10am service

Te Anau: Special Dawn Service 7am, assemble Te Anau Club at 6:50am. 11am Official Service then held at Memorial Park. 10:45am assemble for main parade outside Paper Plus. 10.50am Kapa Haka. 10.55am Parade commences along the main street to the flagpole at Memorial Park (Te Anau lakefront, opposite the Real Journeys office). Chaplain: Rev Craig Allan. Guest Speaker: Sean Cantwell and MP Hamish Walker.

Thornbury: 8.45am Assemble at fire station, wreath-laying ceremony at the WWI and WWII memorials.

Tuturau: 11am Service at the Tuturau War Memorial. Minister: Rev Tau Ben Unu. Lunch to follow at Tuturau Hall.

Waikaia: 10am Service at Community Centre. Cup of tea to follow in the Waikaia Rec Centre.

Waikaka: 10am Service at Waikaka Centennial Hall. The Scout flag raising ceremony begin 9:55am. After service march to War Memorial for wreath-laying. Followed by a luncheon, bring a plate.

Waikoikoi: A Service will be held at 2pm to unveil the new monument. All are welcome.

Waimumu/Te Tipua: 10am Service at Waimumu-TeTipua Hall. Tea to follow.

Wendon: Service to be held at the Wendon Hall at 2:30pm.

Wendonside: Service 12pm to be held at the monument to commemorate 100yrs since the monument was constructed. All welcome.

Winton: 7am Service at Anzac Oval. Assemble at Band Rotunda at 6.55am, including wreath bearers. All welcome back to the Memorial Hall to follow.

Woodlands: 8am. Meet at Woodlands Monument 7:45am. Service followed by morning tea at Woodlands Presbyterian Church. Please bring a plate.

Wyndham: Assemble at Town Square at 7:45am. Parade at 8am to wreath-laying ceremony at War Memorial. Morning tea to follow at the Evangelical Church.
