Brendon Leitch has made a good start to Round 4 of the 2017 Castrol Toyota Racing Series at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park at Taupo.
Leitch, originally from Invercargill but now based in Cromwell, has endured a tough start to this year’s series after finishing third last season.

However the Southlander was second fastest in both sessions held on Thursday at the Taupo circuit as the twenty competitors from eleven different countries began their preparations for this weekend’s round.

Leitch had a good round at this circuit last year and was on course to win one of the three races until a chaotic restart in one of the races.

After a particularly tough round at Hampton Downs last weekend Leitch said the focus at the final two rounds of the series would be to keep performing in his ITM FT-50 and hopefully pick up some race wins.

Practice continues on Friday before qualifying and race one on Saturday with the final two races, including the Denny Hulme Memorial Trophy Race on Sunday.
