Last night there was a Police chase and came to an end on Dee street just Troopers memorial after spikes were laid to stop the driver.

What we know:

  • Police were alerted to a driver on Bluff road who was driving erratically
  • Police tried to stop the driver he sped off.
  • Witnesses saw a police officer and police dog get hit by the car.
  • A vet checked the dog suffered no serious injuries
  • The officer had bruising to a leg.
  • A 68-year-old man will appear in Invercargill District Court on a range of driving charges.
