As reported by What’s On Invers back on 20th June Kmart today have officially confirmed the worse kept secret, the Australian retail chain will open a 5300sqm Kmart store to be constructed on the Clyde, Forth and Wood Streets block with an opening expected late 2019.

Jason Picard, Kmart New Zealand Manager “Kmart has been waiting for a suitable footprint in Invercargill and found the right location with Windermere Holdings along with local builder Calder Stewart.

Formerly tenanted by Brownies and Clean Biz, the site is currently being prepared for demolition.

The complex will include other food, clothing and accessory type stores including a Muffin Break cafe.
