Jim’s Laundry Services has officially launched in Southland, offering a convenient mobile laundry service for both domestic and commercial clients across the region.
The first Jim’s Laundry Services franchise in Southland is operated by local entrepreneur Swapnal, who brings two years of industry experience to the role. He first entered the industry when he opened a self-service laundromat in Centre Street, Invercargill, always intending to expand into a pickup and delivery service.
Now, through a partnership with Jim’s Laundry Services, that vision has become a reality.
Specialising in everything from busy households and working professionals to physiotherapy clinics, accommodation providers, tradespeople and small businesses, the service aims to fill a significant gap in the local market.
“We saw Southland as a region that could really benefit from a complete mobile laundry service,” said Jim’s Laundry Services founder, Bill Cobanoglu.
“Our client base includes busy families, elderly residents, accommodation providers, tradespeople and local businesses that value convenience, reliability and professional service.”
One of the company’s biggest points of difference is its fully mobile model, with free pickup and delivery included as part of every service.

Founded in Australia, Jim’s Laundry Services expanded into New Zealand around a year ago and has rapidly grown to more than 170 franchises across both countries.
While larger laundry operators in the South have traditionally focused on hotels and motels, Swapnal believes there is strong demand from smaller commercial operators and everyday households.
“It’s what the city needs,” he said.
As the newest addition to Southland’s service sector, the business is focused on building awareness of the convenience and value of professional mobile laundry services.
