JB HI-FI opened its southernmost store to the public on Friday inside Invercargill Central. The grand opening event attracted a large crowd, eager to be the first to explore the new store’s offerings.
This new store marks a key milestone in JB HI-FI’s growth. It features a wide range of electronics, gadgets, and entertainment products, catering to the diverse needs of its customers.
“We’re incredibly excited to open our doors inside Invercargill. This store is not just about bringing the latest in technology and entertainment to the community; it’s about creating a space where customers can experience our products firsthand,” said Jon Kirman, Marketing Manager at JB HI-FI.
“The first two days have been extremely well supported by the Invercargill community, with a massive interest in personal audio and music categories, especially vinyl and CDs,” said Tony Keay, Invercargill Manager of JB HI-FI. “It’s been great to see such enthusiasm and support from our customers.”
The event was also noted by Mike Sanford, founder of Whatsoninvers.nz, who reflected on the evolving landscape of music retail. “It’s remarkable to think that in 2024, JB HI-FI’s vinyl and LP collection here surpasses what was available in 1984 – back when the record department of the DIC department store occupied this very site inside Cambridge Arcade,” he remarked. “We were spoiled for choice back then, with One Stop Cassette Shop and the EMI Shop, which later became HMV, BRASHS and SOUNDS.
Customers at the grand opening were treated to special deals and promotions. The store promises to deliver the same high level of customer service and product expertise that JB HI-FI is known for.
As JB HI-FI continues to expand, it reaffirms its position as a leader in the retail sector, consistently meeting consumer demands and adapting to changing market trends.
