Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt has confirmed he will stand for his eighth consecutive term as mayor, and isn’t daunted by new challengers.
Other councillors including Ian Pottinger, Karen Arnold and Deputy mayor Darren Ludlow are playing a bet each way by not confirming yes or no to them challenging Invercargill’s longest serving mayor.
The 2016 mayoral election will be held on October 8, 2016.
