Invers to New York, One Stopover. Who Would’ve Thought

Air New Zealand also announced recently that it has signed up to purchase Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. Reports indicate that as part of the deal the national airline has scope to switch out from the 10 series to the smaller but longer range 9 series Boeing which will get us the 14,200km to New York, that’s if we fly direct from Inv to Akl then onwards to NY.

Yes, who would’ve thought. Invercargill to the Big Apple and just one stopover.

That day may not be that far off.

It’s 12 weeks thereabouts til Air New Zealand launches its direct flights from Invercargill to Auckland on an A320

Steve Canny from Venture Southland says having a direct link to Auckland will have huge benefits to Invercargill and Southland.

All we have to do is change planes in Auckland.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Aircraft similar to this will take us from NZ to New York.

The word is that Sao Paulo Brazil and Toronto Canada are being seriously eyed up as future destinations for Air New Zealand.
