Deputy Mayor Tom Campbell expressed relief and happiness about Mayor Clark’s return home and his ongoing recovery. Campbell highlighted that while the start of the year was challenging, it’s good to see Mayor Clark getting better. He also mentioned looking forward to Clark’s full recovery and return to council duties.
While Mayor Clark recovers, which is expected to take a few months, Deputy Mayor Campbell will take charge of the Council. Mayor Clark shared his gratitude towards the hospital staff for their excellent care and thanked the emergency department at Southland Hospital for their quick response to his heart attack. He also acknowledged his partner, Karen, for ensuring he doesn’t rush his recovery.
The Council is scheduled to meet again on January 23 for a Community Wellbeing Committee meeting.
