Invercargill Police are searching for two youths seen running from the Doon Street hedge fire at around midday.
A police spokeswoman said officers were following information received from witnesses and fire crews that two youths were seen running from the burning hedge on Doon Street towards Burger King on Tay Street.

Environment Southland issued a notification on their Facebook page.
As the result of a fire in Tay Street, Invercargill, firefighters had to use class A foam, some of which has made its way into the stormwater network. Some will wash through into the Otepuni Stream so people are advised to avoid contact with the water and keep dogs out as well. Our staff and those from Invercargill City Council are on site now and we will update when we have further information.
