The Invercargill Malayalees Association (IMA) hosted the highly successful Mega Thiruvathira event on 15th September at Invercargill Central, showcasing Kerala’s traditional Thiruvathira dance. Dancers, dressed in traditional attire, mesmerised the audience with their graceful movements and intricate cultural symbolism, leaving a lasting impression on those in attendance. The lively atmosphere added to the occasion, reflecting the cultural depth and pride of the Malayali people.

IMA was thrilled with the positive reception of the event, with attendees appreciating the cultural significance and the hard work behind organising such a performance. “The Mega Thiruvathira was a wonderful opportunity to share Kerala’s cultural traditions, and we are grateful for the community’s support,” said a representative of the association. “We look forward to organising more events that celebrate diversity and foster cultural appreciation.”
