ILT Still Finds Money For Community Grants

It might have been a tough year for the Invercargill Licensing Trust (ILT), but there was still money to give out to the community.
The year-to-date operating sales for the ILT were significantly down by $7.9 million as a result of Covid-19 (18.1%) – it was stated by the chief executive in his report to the board.
Chris Ramsay said it was expected the next six months to also be lower due to ongoing lower demand for accommodation, and fewer bookings for functions and conferences.
He said the resulting reduction in gross profit contribution had been “very well managed” by the team, by way of reducing costs, and restructuring business operations where necessary.
Staffing levels are essentially back to before the restructuring in May when there were job cuts due to the drop in business from lockdown and level 2.
The following grants have been approved by the ILT;
Invercargill Secondary Schools’ Prize-Giving – $500 per school for each of the six Invercargill secondary schools to assist with the end-of-year prize-giving;
