The first of two free dinners for over 70’s was officially kicked off by ILT CEO Chris Ramsay to a capacity 450 crowd. He had the room laughing when he assured them that he wouldn’t talk to long as he had the hard word from head chief Simon Henry that his speech would be over by 5:25 and the audience all look at their watches causing Chris to say am I that boring.

ILT board President Alan Dennis had some interesting numbers to share with us.

The free dinners started 25 years ago in 1993 with one night and 500 guests dinners
1995- present 900 over two nights. Over the last twenty five years the ILT have shouted 21,300 dinners for the elderly.

The two nights are staffed by the ILT board and executive team along with many staff volunteers to serve the meals and pour the drinks.
