The Invercargill City Council is advising motorists to avoid Gala Street, between Jed Street and Kelvin Street this Sunday as road marking is carried out.
One lane of Gala Street will remain open at all times, however there may be some delays, therefore motorists are urged to take alternative routes this Sunday, 4 March, between 7am and 8pm.
Queens Park Crescent, opposite Deveron Street, and Deveron Street, between Leet and Gala Streets, will be closed to all traffic during most of the 7am-8pm work period.
There is to be no parking in these areas during that time.
Work is weather permitting, and may be delayed.
The road marking being carried out is the last step in the scheduled road works for the new traffic lights, which have been installed at the intersection to improve motorist and pedestrian safety.
