One lane of State Highway 94 near Deer Flat has reopened following a serious crash earlier today involving a van rollover. The crash was reported to Police at 11.55am.
The southbound lane has been cleared for traffic under stop-go management to ensure safe passage for vehicles. Emergency services responded swiftly to the incident, which resulted in multiple injuries.
Two individuals were airlifted to Dunedin Hospital. One sustained critical injuries, while the other is in serious condition. Several other individuals were transported to a nearby medical centre, where they are being treated for minor to moderate injuries.
Traffic management remains in place as recovery efforts and investigations continue. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while travelling through the area.
