Take out the ‘North’ in Northland and replace it with ‘South’, that’s where Bunnings NPC fans will see Highlanders Midfielder Scott Gregory play in 2022.
The 19 cap Highlander and ‘Man of the Match’ last weekend against the Blues, will make the move South and will be joining the SBS Bank Southland Stags in July.
For Head Coach Dale MacLeod, Gregory, 23, was a player that he has seen grow since his debut for Northland in 2018.
During his time coaching in Northland, MacLeod was quick to sign Gregory straight out of school to be part of the Northland NPC squad.
“I have watched Scott’s progress with interest, and I am really excited about working with him again.”
“The skillsets he will bring to the Stags and his competitive nature will really add to our ability to win games. He’s a quality person who works very hard on his game and he will bring a real level of professionalism to our group.“
Over the past five seasons, Scott has amassed 32 NPC games alongside his 19 Super Rugby games, as well as two seasons with the NZ U20’s and New Zealand Sevens prior to his Super debut.
Scott is named to play to start for the Highlanders against the Crusaders on Friday night.
