2021 was homecoming and dream come true for Southland Born Grayson Knapp. The 26 year old Lock played junior rugby in Eastern Southland is a kid, before earning his stripes in Nelson at Nelson College.
Fast forward to 2022, Grayson is looking to add to his 6 caps to date with a further season with the SBS Bank Southland Stags.
Grayson is currently aligned with Star Rugby Clubs premier side and is looking forward to getting back out training following his injury rehab.
“I’m looking forward to the terraces absolutely roaring”.
“My debut against Canterbury will be a memory I’ll never forget. Running out with the boys onto Rugby Park was very special.” Said Knapp.
For Forwards Coach David Hall, Grayson is a key component for the side.
“He is a player that always gives his all in everything he does and brings plenty of energy round the team environment. Once his rehab is complete, we will be excited to see him getting into his work for Star and then the Stags”, said Hall.
For now, Grayson is helping Star from a side of field mentor role, passing on his knowledge to the squad.
