The All of Government COVID-19 National Response will provide an update at 1.00 pm today.
Dr Ashley Bloomfield says,
- Total number of cases in NZ 797, 89 new cases since yesterday.
- 92 cases have now recovered.
- 76 new confirmed cases, 13 new cases, no new deaths
- 13 people are in hospital, two are in ICU. All patients are stable51 percent of cases still have a strong link to travel. 31 percent are links to confirmed cases.
- Only 1 percent are being classed as community transmission. However,
- 17 percent are still being contact traced.
- Total number of cases in NZ 797, 89 new cases since yesterday
- Clusters in NZ – There are now six clusters of 10 or more people, yesterday it was seven but turns out one was actually less than 10. Updates on clusters are on the MOH website.
- 2563 tests were done yesterday. Over 26,000 tests now conducted
- Eight labs around the country are processing tests, next week it will be 10. The total volume of tests that can be done is now over 4000.
- “I want to acknowledge the huge amount of work that has gone on amongst our labs over the last few weeks to increase our capacity, amongst the staff there and the work they are doing,” – Dr Bloomfield.
- MOH is now starting to analyse where Covid-19 is in NZ. The highest number of cases in DHBs have been Southern DHB (particularly Queenstown, Waikato DHB, Auckland and Waitamata DHB.
