The nominees for the 2022 Gore District Community Awards have now been announced, with 35 nominations across eight categories.

Gore District Council Events Coordinator Jessica Swan said she was extremely pleased with the level of candidates this year.

“The quality of the nominations this year is fantastic, with really deserving candidates. It made choosing a winner for each category very difficult and caused quite a bit of debate around the judging table.”

With tickets now on sale at the Gore Visitor Centre and online at GoreNZ.com, Ms Swan said they hoped to have another sell out year.

“2020 saw the event revitalised in the wake of COVID-19 and we want to continue the success of that.

“Part of this is making sure we have affordable ticket prices so friends and family of all our nominees can attend and celebrate with them.”

Ms Swan said she was incredibly grateful to all of the event’s generous sponsors. “Without their support, ticket prices would be double, if not triple, what they are now.”

At $25.00 per person, tickets to the event include dinner, a welcome drink and an evening of performances and celebrations.
