Southland Strokeplay and South Island Strokeplay
A high quality field contested the 54 hole Southland Strokeplay and Golf NZ South Island Strokeplay over the weekend at the Invercargill Golf Club played in perfect conditions. Carmeron Harlock (New Plymouth GC) took out the title in a play off with Joshua Bai (Akarana GC)  both with scores of 207.

Liam Hewitt equaled the course record of 64 on Sunday which was recorded by Steve Alker  in 1994. Liam is the first Southlander to equal this record.
Craig O’Rorke Won the 36 Men’s Masters Division with Greg Lindsay winning the Men’s Masters Nett Division
Helen Baird won the 36 hole Women’s Masters Division and Ali McCulloch was the Nett Winner
Jake Slater was the Junior Gross winner and Matthew Cookson the Nett Junior Winner

NZ Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship
Southland Golfer Olivia Frost was Gross runner-up in the NZ Women’s Mid Amateur event played at Clearwater Golf Club 15/16 January. Olivia lost to Rachel Eder (Clearwater GC) in a play off with both ladies finishing on a score of 238. Olivia was also runner-up in the Nett Division.

Charity Tournament
The Annual ILT Liquorland Charity tournament is being held on the 23rd February at Queens Park with the Southland Foodbank this years charity.

The event is a 4BBB Stableford and is open to pairs any combination Men Women of Mixed  with Men’s Maximum handicap 36.4 and women 40.4. Tere are tee off times between 8am and 8.30am and noon and 1pm. Entries to [email protected].
