Go Bus Senior Club Rugby Week Three Wrap

Marist & Blues: The storm is over, at least for Division 1. Both Premier and Ack Soper Shield grades have made it through storm week, with 3 games in the space of just 8 days. Ack Soper division one now have five weeks of regular season play, along with all grades bar premier who have six games remaining, including one more storm week.

All teams made it through reasonably unscathed, although premier side Blues suffered a loss with SIT Zero Fees Southland Stag Ray Tatafu breaking his finger putting him out for the remainder of the club season, he will be back for Mitre 10 Cup In September.

Mossburn remain unbeaten in the race for the Gerald Dermody Shield, after defeating previosuly unbeaten Tokanui on Saturday in Mossburn. Collegiate, Bluff and Waiau Star are the only teams unbeaten in the Division 2 grades.

In premier grade it was a week that has shaken up the competition, previosuly unbeaten Woodlands were taken down by ENC Barbarians in Wednesday nights game, while Star defeated Marist that same night, and Pirates-Old Boys snatching the win in the final minutes against Blues.

Saturdays Premier rugby had Woodlands remain top of the table with a win against Star, Pirates-Old Boys took down ENC Barbarians and Blues were defeated by Marist. In storm week 5 out of 6 teams all ended with a win and loss.

On Sunday it was battle of the towns with Albion taking on Pioneer at the Gore Showgrounds and Marist hosting Blues. Albion dominated Pioneer sealing a solid win, with Blues defeating Marist in what was a full 80 minutes of passionate rugby.
