This year’s line-up has proved to be hugely popular with all three concerts in the tour selling out only a month after going on sale last year.
Setting the scene for the Queenstown crowd in great concert weather, (warm and sunny), local artists The Cellar Doors took stage mid-morning delivering what would be a total of five incredible acts over the course of the afternoon with a chilled out atmosphere of picnic rugs and hampers, along with the incredible background of the Crown Range beyond.
For the first time, a fourth international act were added to this year’s Summer Concert Tour line up. Nashville based Fairground Saints brought to concert goers their unique California country sound.
Colin Hay of Men At Work fame was next to take to stage early afternoon and wowed concert goers with his unmistakable hits , entertaining them with songs including Who Can It Be Now, Down Under and Be Good Johnny.
Next up was a massive crowd favourite, Alanis Morissette. Touring New Zealand for the first time in 20 years, she captured the audience with hits from her No. 1 selling album, Jagged Little Pill, punching out the likes of You Oughta Know, Hand In My Pocket and Ironic.
At the time of this release, The Orchestra starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra, were gearing up to perform their formidable repertoire of ELO hits such as Mr Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Livin’ Thing, Telephone Line and Sweet Talkin’ Woman, promising to be an amazing end to the day.
