A groovy new espresso cafe has set up in Invercargill, injecting another fix of caffeine on the edge of the central business district.

Groove Espresso is owned by Lloyd and Taya who sold up their coffee roasting business in Perth “and moved back home to a little place called Invercargill,” earlier this year.

Invercargill City mayor Nobby clark was there to cut the ribbon.

Their cafe opened in October and also sells smoothies and other yummy treats.

The name for the new cafe came from a desire to “get into the groove” of life and have a good time, Taya said.

“It’s about getting in the groove in your day. Whether it’s coffee or it might be music or whatever.”

The takeaway cafe is open Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm and Saturdays 8am to 2pm.

“We actually met through coffee and music which is kinda cool,” she said.
