BONIFACE, William Thomas (Bill):
18 August 1942 - 29 September 2025. Beloved partner of the late Glenice Hansen and former husband to Joan Miller (Tait). Beloved brother of Duncan and Annis, Fred, Adele, Des Frisby, David and Ngaire, Beverley and Dennis Waters (Picton). Dearly loved father of Phillip and Julie Boniface, cherished grandfather of Matthew and Tess Black, Sophie and Emily Black. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Judy Hayward and Lindsay Boniface for the support they gave us through Dad’s journey. The family sincerely thanks the Hospice Invercargill for their compassionate care in William’s final days. A memorial service to celebrate Williams life will be held at a later date to be announced. Les has gone to pursue his favourite pastime in peaceful new waters, on April 22, 2024, aged 79 years. Peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday October 1 at Mossbrae Lifecare; aged 87 years. Dearly loved husband of 65 years to Eunice, much loved father and father-in-law of Spencer and Jenny (Winton), Fraser and Jo (Stirling), Mike and Ruth (Ashburton), and Gavin* and Leanne (Christchurch), a special grandad and great grandad, and loved brother and brother-in-law of Eoin and Ann, Mary and Max, Rochelle and Ian, and Neville* and Vicky. (*denotes deceased). A memorial service to celebrate Les’ life will be held on Friday, October 10 at 2pm in the Clinton Community Hall. Passed away peacefully, aged 94 years. Loved husband of the late Wendy Preston. Hilda passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family, aged 95 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Glenis and Preston Shaw, Raewyn and Michael Fleck, Craig and Catherine Thomson, Doug and Prudence Thomson, and Bruce Thomson and Linda Gordon. Loved grandmother of her 12 grandchildren and loved great grandmother of her 22 great grandchildren. As to Hilda’s wishes a private cremation has taken place and a family graveside farewell will be held at a later date. I wish to thank the Professional Team at Avenal Park Funeral Parlour for the Memorial Service on Saturday the 30th August. Honoring my late husband, Les Sutherland. Nigel Edward's and the team were respectful and caring and put my mind at ease. The Celebrant, Sharon Payne, led the Service with dignity and respect and was exemplary in her manner.
