Career firefighter union members in the south are facing pay cuts while they carry on their two-weekly strikes from this Friday.
Invercargill NZPFU representative Aaron Ramsey said strike action is continuing on Mondays and Fridays for an hour, on the corner of Gala Street, where the protest moved several weeks

Invercargill is gearing up for the PlaceMakers Southern Scooter Challenge this Saturday, March 21, but the excitement has already begun with a lively warm-up ride through the city.
On Friday the 13th, 59 scooters — along with one impressive 5 seater motorbike with Invercargill Mayor Tom Campbell on board— completed a
New move-on orders are another tool for Invercargill police as they work to keep Invercargill streets safe.
Announced last month, these orders will give police an extra tool to deal with disorderly behaviour in public places.
This is something that has been concerning Invercargill retailers and I am hopeful police
