Peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Aged 75 years. Loved wife of the late Gary, loved sister and sister-in-law of Robbie and Denyse Rowland, loved mother of Lyndon Shearing.
Sadly missed, a life of love and fun.
Thanks to her Invercargill buddies. A service for family and friends, will be held in the Ascot Park Hotel, corner of Tay Street and Racecourse Road, Invercargill, on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 2.30pm. Private interment thereafter.
BLYTHE, Eldred Patricia (Pat):
Passed away peacefully in the loving care of the Resthaven staff, on Friday April 3, 2026. Dearly loved wife of the late George loved Mum and Mother-in-law of Jim and Linda, Marty* and Julie, William *, and Sally, adored Granny, Great Granny and Great-Great Granny of all her grandchildren. Beloved sister of Jessie, twin sister of April, Aleeya, Rose, Bill, and Chum. (*denotes deceased).

FENTON, Valma Patricia (nee Birse):
Peacefully at Gore Hospital, on Sunday, April 5, 2026. In her 90th year. Dearly loved wife and best friend of the late Ian.
Loved Mum and mother-in-law of Helen and Danny O'Reilly (Sydney), Robert and Lorna (Alexandra), and Chris (Gore). Loved Grandma of James and Hollie, Sean and Heather, Sinead and Ash, Reece and Adrienne, Renee and Robin, Renee and Steve, and great-Grandma to her 10.5 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Valma will be held in the Calvin Community Presbyterian Church, 25 Robertson Street, Gore on Monday, April 13, at 1.30pm, followed by refreshments before the interment at Charlton Park Cemetery. LOFFHAGEN, Ivan Bruce:
Passed away on Wednesday, 1st April 2026 at Hospice Southland after a long battle with cancer. Aged 78 years. Dearly loved husband & best mate of Merle. Dearest “Bruce” of Monty & Maxine and all the Loffhagen family. Thank you to Dunedin Hospital, Southland Hospital Oncology, District Nurses, Tuatapere Medical Centre and Hospice Southland. Passed away peacefully at Southland Hospital on Saturday April 4, 2026. Dearly loved husband of Flora loved dad and father-in-law of Shane and Phillippa, adored grandad of Mikayla, Ashleigh, and Olivia, adored great grandad of Novak. SUCHANSKI, Alina Bozena:
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She had been a longstanding active member of the Polish community in Christchurch, an avid lover of nature and member of the Te Anau tramping club. She published 2 books (Poles apart, Alone) and regularly contributed articles for local magazines and newspapers including The Advocate. Alina had touched many lives with kindness, warmth, and friendship. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday April 11th at 1.30pm at Waikuku Beach Hall. With tea/coffee and nibbles to follow.
